Aspects of our Therapy Process

Assessment

We evaluate the person’s abilities, challenges, and goals through interviews, observations, and standardised assessments. We analyse physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial factors to gain a comprehensive understanding of the individual’s needs.

Treatment planning

Based on the assessment, we develop a treatment plan tailored to the person’s specific goals and needs. We collaborate with the individual to identify areas of difficulty and set meaningful objectives to address them.

Intervention

Our interventions aim to improve or restore the person’s functional abilities and promote independence. We use a variety of techniques and strategies such as exercises, adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, skill-building activities, and cognitive retraining to help individuals regain or develop skills for daily living, work, leisure, and self-care.

Adaptation and compensatory strategies

We provide adaptive techniques, tools, and assistive devices to help individuals overcome barriers and maximise their independence. This might involve teaching alternative ways of completing tasks or modifying the environment to make it more accessible.

Education and training

We educate individuals, families, and caregivers about the condition, strategies for managing challenges, and techniques for maintaining progress outside of therapy sessions. We may also provide guidance on injury prevention, ergonomic principles, and energy conservation techniques.

Advocacy and collaboration

We collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, employers, and community resources to ensure that individuals receive comprehensive care and support. We advocate for their clients’ needs and rights to enable participation in society to the fullest extent possible.
